FAQ

Will you train my dog for me?

Yes. We offer a couple different services for us to train your dog without you being present. Our first service is our day school program which is a drop off at our facility and second is walk and train where a high expectations trainer comes to your home and works with your dog one one one. What are your training methods?

I believe in teaching people how to be proactive with their dogs in training. I will show you how we can set your pup up for success, creating a situation where your dog is choosing to perform behaviors we appreciate, thus creating a positive relationship with your pup.

More specifically, we will use marker training, luring, capturing and shaping in our training sessions

Do you work with behavior issues and aggression in dogs?

Yes. I will first collect information on your pup’s behavior, and then we will use the methods that work specifically for you and your pup.  Your behavior modification program will include a variety of methods including desensitization, counter conditioning, and proper safe management strategies.

What vaccinations will my dog need for training classes?

I will need to see proof of rabies vaccine and up to date vaccination record (DHLPP or DHPP) including a Bordetella vaccination.

What kind of vaccinations will my puppy need for puppy class?

Your puppy needs to have had one set of DHLPP or DHPP (specifically Distemper and Parvo) 7 days prior to coming to class.  You are also required to keep up to date on those vaccinations during the puppy class.

For more information on puppy vaccination please read this article.

If I can’t make it to a dog training class, what can I do?

You will be receiving handouts for all the classes, so you will have written material to review.  You can also schedule a make up with me.  The fee for the private make-up session is $60 for 30minutes.

Can my dog training class be refunded?

Because I restrict class size in order to keep classes small for families I am unable to refund your training class.  If you cancel your class 7 days prior to your class stating I can refund your deposit.  A deposit must be made in order to hold your spot in class.

Can more than one person come to training classes?

Yes! Family and supportive friends are welcome to come to class!  Your pup will learn faster when the family works as a team and the pup makes a good relationship with everyone in the family.  Please remember that this is your time to learn to be a better dog trainer, so bring those with you that will not distract you too much from your learning experience.

Do you offer private training?

Yes. Private training can be held both in the comfort of the pup’s home and at my training facility located in Camas. Private training is offered in packages of 5 which will reduce the normal hourly rate.

What is your Cancellation Policy for private or behavioral training?

Cancellations are accepted for up to 7 days (1 week) prior to your training session.

Cancellations made after 7 days (1 week) prior to your session will be invoiced $50.

This fee must be paid before any future appointments can be scheduled.

Cancellations within 48 hours (2 days) days prior to your training session and nonattendance are subject to pay the full amount for the training session.

The full amount must be paid before any future appointments can be scheduled.

Cancellations with a scheduled package credit within 7 days (1 week) prior to the scheduled private session will result in the loss of the package credit for that appointment.

Cancellations due to emergencies will be reviewed on a case by case basis.
