Walk & Train Openings

Walk & Trains at High Expectations Dog Training are 1.5-hour sessions where one of our trainers comes directly to your home to train and walk your dog! (You do not need to be present).

Before getting started, we’ll have you share your top training goals so we can tailor each session to your dog’s individual needs. Our trainers will work on those skills during the walk and provide consistency and structure to help your dog make progress.

We recommend twice a week sessions to provide the consistency needed to see the best results. Fill out our application by clicking the link below and we can get you started!

Canine Good Citizen Class!

Ready to take on a challenge with your pup? 🐾

Our Canine Good Citizen class is a fun way to review basic skills, build confidence, and prepare for the AKC Canine Good Citizen test.

The class follows the AKC test, which you’ll take during week five. Whether you’re hoping to earn your CGC or simply want to challenge yourself and your pup, this class is a great opportunity to practice, learn, and maybe even earn some bragging rights!

Next class 10/10 at 2:45pm

Halloween Safety

Halloween can be a fun night for the whole family, but all the costumes, candy, decorations, and frequent doorbell ringing can be overwhelming for our dogs! A few simple precautions can help keep your pup safe and comfortable:

Keep candy out of reach: Chocolate, xylitol (found in some sugar-free candies), and other sweets can be dangerous for dogs. Keep the candy bowl somewhere your pup can’t access it.

Create a quiet space: If your dog gets nervous with the doorbell, costumes, or trick-or-treaters, set them up in a comfortable room away from the front door with something to enjoy.

Watch the door: Dogs can easily slip out when the door is repeatedly opening and closing. Make sure your pup is safely contained before trick-or-treaters arrive.

Be careful with costumes: If your dog is wearing a costume, make sure it doesn’t restrict movement, breathing, hearing, or vision. Never leave your dog unattended while wearing one.

Most importantly, know your dog! If Halloween is stressful for your pup, there’s nothing wrong with letting them skip the festivities and enjoy a quiet night in a safe, comfortable space.
